  Located 925m above sea level, the ancient town of Bansko, Bulgaria is situated at the foothills of the Pirin Mountain, one of the most beautiful Bulgarian mountains and listed as a UNESCO world heritage site for it's natural sightseeing and culture.
Bansko is a charming and historic 10th century town combining its natural beauty and outdoor opportunities with the atmosphere of culture and history. The traditional taverna-style restaurants (called "Mehana") offer delicious cuisine and local fare, live entertainment, and colorful folklore. 
 Whilst you will have the opportunity to camly listen, or even sing along to the live folk music at the Mehana where you dine, if you wish to progress your evening further you could try your hand at Bowling, your luck at the Casino or even into the early hours at the wide range of bars and night clubs.
  Built in 1835 the Holy Trinity Church with its fine belfry and clock tower constitutes the very heart of Bansko. It is also famous for its collection of icons and murals painted by local Bansko artists who once made the Bansko School of Painting one of the best in Bulgaria.
Approximately 1 hour outside of Bankso and protected under the UNESCO shield is the Rila monastery, founded in the 10th century and famous for its size, natural surroundings, architecture, wall paintings and ancient history.
If you want to relax then you could visit the hot mineral spring waters - nothing better than to bathe those muscles after a day on the slopes!
Not forgetting the ample shopping and the new Ice skating rink, the 'Things to do' mentioned above can be done all year round and they highlight just how much Bansko is developing as an all year round resort. - Golfing, Including and Ian Woosnam newly developed course just outside Bansko
- Hire a car for a drive up the Pirin Mountain, arrive at the top followed by Lake Walking, Fishing, Camping or just take time out and enjoy a picnic in the beautiful surroundings mountains with colouful nature and the birds singing.
 Visit the dancing Bear Reabilitation Park. Learn from the museum and undertand their now peacful territory.
